Like all anemones, the rainbow bubble tip anemone has a pedal disc and tentacles that stretch when hungry. Depending on light and other factors, the tentacles can be elongated to capture food and then retracted for safekeeping.

Light Requirements

While most sea anemones require very high light conditions and stable water quality to thrive, bubble tip anemones can be a bit more forgiving. They will tolerate moderate to high lighting, and they do not seem to be as fussy about nitrate levels.

They do, however, need moderate to high flow. This helps to assist in filtering food particles that they consume.

Feeding

Nevertheless, you can supplement their diet with bits of frozen fish or thawed Mysis shrimp once a week to ensure they get enough protein. Be sure to cut up the food in small pieces that are similar to their mouth or oral disc, so they can grab it with their tentacles and gobble it up.
