If you have an upcoming flight with Delta, you can easily add your TSA PreCheck number to your travel reservation using the Delta app. It’s a similar process to that of the website, though with some differences.
If you’re not familiar with TSA PreCheck, it’s a membership program that allows travelers to use a special screening area at airports. The program is designed to speed up security check-in lines.
Known Traveler Number (KTN)
Adding your Known Traveler Number (KTN) to the Delta app is a great way to streamline your booking process and enjoy faster security check-ins. It also allows you to access exclusive deals and discounts.
A KTN is a nine-digit number that indicates your status in TSA PreCheck or one of the other Trusted Traveler programs offered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
When you book a flight using the Delta app, your KTN will be saved in your profile. This will ensure that your PreCheck or Global Entry information is included on every reservation.
To add your KTN to the Delta app, first log in to your Delta SkyMiles account. From there, go to ‘Personal Details’ and click on ‘Edit Traveler Info’.
Edit Existing Reservations
There’s nothing more annoying than standing in long security lines at airports, and no one likes to have to remove their shoes, belts, light jackets or laptops. But with TSA PreCheck, you’ll be able to avoid these hassles and save time in the process.
If you’ve already booked your flight through Delta, you can add your TSA PreCheck number to the app before you arrive at the airport. Just log in to your Delta SkyMiles account and update your Known Traveler Number (KTN) or Redress Number under “Personal Details” as you enter your passenger information.
You can also add your TSA PreCheck number to an existing reservation by logging in to the Southwest Airlines app or JetBlue account. Just click “Edit Reservation” in the Secure Flight Info section and enter your Known Traveler Number (KTN). You can also manually add your KTN to an existing reservation on the Southwest website or at an airport kiosk.
Add Details Under New Bookings
If you are planning on traveling to a new destination and want to be sure that your belongings will get through security quickly, consider enrolling in TSA PreCheck. This is a government program that allows passengers to skip the security screening line and walk right into the boarding area.
During enrollment, you will enter your full name and KTN (Known Traveler Number). This number is then saved to your Delta account.
Once you are logged in to your account, click on your “Personal Details” section and enter your KTN into the TSA PreCheck/Known Traveler ID field. This will make sure that you receive the TSA PreCheck indicator on your boarding pass.
You can also edit your personal information under your booking in order to update the TSA PreCheck number. This is the best way to ensure that you get your PreCheck number on your boarding pass.

The government program TSA PreCheck gives travelers an expedited security screening that can save you a lot of time. Run by the Transportation Security Administration, it’s available at 200-plus airports and 85 participating airlines.
TSA PreCheck’s lanes are generally quicker and simpler than standard security lines, so you can leave your shoes, belt, and light jacket on, and don’t have to remove laptops, liquids, or other items from your carry-on bag. In addition, TSA PreCheck members can walk through a metal detector, rather than the full-body scanner.
To enroll in TSA PreCheck, you must first fill out an online application form. You can also schedule an in-person interview at one of the hundreds of enrollment centers. Once you’re approved, you’ll receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN), which you can then add to your Delta app and use when booking flights.
