The Fortress
Sumitomo Machinery Corporation of America (SMA) and SM-Cyclo of Canada Ltd. are subsidiaries of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, one of the largest manufacturers of machinery in Japan and the global leader in power transmission knowledge and innovation.
Our latest drive technology is called the Fortress. Jonathon Bridge has it all: a corner office in a top-tier software firm, tailored suits, an impeccable pedigree, and a fascinating wife. He also has a string of pretty young interns who are lovers on the side.
When he realizes that his indiscretions are causing her to break up, she offers him a deal: he will go to a mysterious city-state known as the Fortress and live there for a year, without speaking to anyone. He must swear not to raise his hand in anger or refuse sex and will not ask questions.
As he goes about his task, the Fortress’s work order system becomes his friend. With it, he can create as many orders as he likes, without ever running out of wooden doors or rock toys or dwarven rum!
The Powerhouse
The Powerhouse (or its cousin the Cyclo) is an engineering marvel that embodies a host of innovations, from a nifty magnetic levitation motor to a cleverly designed gearbox. It is also a very reliable product that has withstood the test of time, even after 24 years of operation at Safeco Field in Seattle.
The gizmo is a bespoke, state of the art machine made from the best materials available. It is a highly accurate and precise gearbox that incorporates an innovative design, a novel bearing system and a cleverly engineered, integrated motor. It is a great example of the sumitomo way of doing things.
